Fred has been a member of CBC since its inception in 1981. He is the former owner of GF Walls Insurance Agency in Smithfield. is a member of Gideons International and both he and his wifem Darby, are serving as chaplains for the Virginia Gideons and for the Gideons Auxillary.  He has worked with the youth of CBC, has served as a deacon, and has directed a Day Camp ministry for area children for 20 years. Fred teaches one of the adult Sunday School classes, assists with the audio visual ministry, and serves in many other ways at CBC. His wife, Darby, serves as Sunday School teacher for 2nd and 3rd graders, is co-chair of the Women’s ministry, and blesses the church body with quiet acts of service. They have 3 children, Jay (married to Michelle), Amy (married to Jeremy), and Ben (married to Ashley) Fred and Darby have 5 grandchildren. The Walls reside in Smithfield.
