Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning
Children -- The curriculum for our children's classes is from Desiring God ministries from Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN (Pastor John Piper). Children learn the bible from a God-centered perspective instead of a man-centered one. For example, they learn "How God Protected Noah When God Destroyed the Earth" instead of "Noah and the Ark". God desires to reveal Himself through Scripture. When children begin to learn the various characteristics of God, they begin to understand who He is, who they are, and their ultimate responsibility to turn to Him through faith in Jesus Christ. Classes for younger children are set up by age and grade levels. A nursery is provided during the Sunday School hour for infants and younger toddlers.
Classes for older youth are also offered. Currently, new curriculum is being reviewed with the intention making a change soon. Until that time, class members participate in book studies. Youth activities, including Wednesday night youth praise and bible study, are held in mixed group and related age settings. There are also a number of service and enrichment activities throughout the year in which teens can participate.
Adults have a choice of which class they desire to attend. Sunday School teachers will cover a book for a certain number of weeks. A new class for 18 to 35 year olds has recently formed. The Audult 2 Class is for those "in between" or who just want to be apart of that group. The Adult 1 Class is comprised of young at heart retired seniors who meet regularly during the week, or at other times for fellowship or to participate in ministry projects. Occasionally, classes are offered by gender in order to study a book written for women or men in particular.
