Sunday School

Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning

Children -- The curriculum for our children's classes is from Desiring God ministries from Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN (Pastor John Piper).  Children learn the bible from a Mrs. Cornelius' First and Second Grade ClassGod-centered perspective instead of a man-centered one.  For example, they learn "How God Protected Noah When God Destroyed the Earth" instead of "Noah and the Ark".  God desires to reveal Himself through Scripture.  When children begin to learn the various characteristics of God, they begin to understand who He is, who they are, and their ultimate responsibility to turn to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.  Classes for younger children are set up by age and grade levels.

Classes for teens are set up by gender.  Since this age group experiences unique social pressures, studying under a teacher and sharing with peers of the same sex provides the advantage of addressing Teen Girls Learn to Apply the Word to Every Day Lifemore freely the spiritual challenges they face.  Youth activities, including Wednesday night youth praise and bible study, are held in mixed group and related age settings.  Teen Sunday School classes may be topical, or they might study a book together.

Adults have a choice of which class they desire to attend.  Sunday School teachers will cover a book for a certain number of weeks.  At the end of the study, adults may select Adult learners discuss a chapter from a book the group is readying.another class.  Dynamic interaction occurs when class members spend time during the week reading the assigned chapter(s) and then discuss the meaning, indications, related concerns, and application of the topic being studied.  The Adult 1 Class is comprised of young at heart retired seniors who meet regularly during the week, or at other times for fellowship or to participate in ministry projects.
